Our Response to COVID-19

Update: March 26th 2020

In response to the enhanced control measures announced by the UK Government this week in the form of social lockdown, DataVita have amended their policy with regards to the use of the Data Centre. Access to the Data Centre will now only be admitted to customers, customers contractors and critical Data Centre contractors in a business critical situation and where the social distancing measures can still be adhered to. We will also introduce non-contact thermal scans of attendees and reserve the right to refuse access to anybody with a heightened temperature above 37.3 degrees celsius.

All DataVita services will continue to operate as normal through our dedicated staff including 24X7 Service desk, remote hands, remote hands plus, cross-connects etc. where the restrictions on social interaction can be maintained to ensure the protection of our staff. This reduced use of the Data Centre will remain in place until UK Government guidance changes and we will monitor and update as and when additional guidance is made available to us.

Please feel free to contact us via the normal channels if you have any concerns or questions with regards to this temporary change in use of the Data Centre.

Update: March 16th 2020

DataVita has activated our business continuity plan to ensure seamless operations of our services throughout this situation, and that our data centre is equipped with the necessary equipment and supplies.

Our business continuity plan approach prioritises three factors:

  • The health and safety of our customers, partners and employees
  • The continuity of services
  • Compliance with National/Local Government and Public Health guidance

DataVita is closely following the recommendations of The Scottish and UK Governments and we will provide an update as soon as possible in response to any change in the guidance available.  In the event of any additional restrictions of movement, DataVita has a robust process in place which will ensure the uninterrupted operation of our services throughout this situation.

We will provide updated access procedures should additional restrictions be introduced, which will allow customers to maintain secure access to the data centre whilst protecting the health of all customers and employees.

As this situation evolves, we are here to help. Please do not hesitate to contact us if there is anything we can do to assist you.
